Foundations and nonprofits explain how collaborative relationships, which go beyond mere grantmaking, ultimately result in stronger impact in communities. Panelists will share thoughts on the rationale behind their collaborations, how they make these partnerships work, what challenges they have faced along the way, and the results they’ve seen from their efforts together.
The United Nation’s recent adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serves as a uniquely valuable opportunity for philanthropy, nonprofit, and civil society to fight extreme poverty, end inequality, and fix climate change across the world. If we want to have a chance at achieving these goals of a more equitable and sustainable world, we'll need your help because of the unique role you play in the social sector.

“How collaborative projects win grants and how local nonprofits are collaborating for greater outcomes.”
The Nonprofit Resource fair is a vehicle to:
- Connect nonprofit professionals with local service providers who can help them grow, manage, and sustain their programs
- Showcase nonprofits and their funders that are taking collaborative approaches to find solutions
- Spread the word about Foundation Center resources and community partner resources (exhibitors)
During the resource fair, we will also provide a special programming panel, Grantmaker Meets the Changemaker. We will present a dialogue between community Changemakers--nonprofit leaders that are working together rather than in silos to figure how to have the most strategic impact--and Grantmakers.
This dialogue will provide attendees with access and insights into the grantmaker/grantee relationship as it relates to collaboration, as well as the benefits of collaboration including:
- Ability to provide services in a more holistic fashion with greater efficiency and combined resources
- Coordinated efforts leading to less duplication
- Opportunities for joint pursuit of funding
Increased credibility and stability
